What are the hottest eCommerce events in East Asia this year? We’ve got the answers. Of course, events and trade shows have been among the industries hardest hit by the Coronavirus. Events across East Asia are seeing cancellations, delays, and moves online. Even China, which is emerging from the worst of the virus season, is still staying cautious and taking steps to ward off a second wave. But many still plan to hold their major shows this year, with some delaying to safer times in the year. Below we take a look at the eCommerce events that are still planned to be run through the rest of 2020 and how they’ve responded.
The 10th China Digital Marketing and Ecommerce Innovation Summit 2020
This summit focuses on how to thrive in China’s comprehensively digitalized landscape, in both marketing and eCommerce terms. China’s consumers are eager and willing to embrace digital technology into their daily lives, and experts gather at this summit to share their insights and perspectives on how best to tap into that.
As of now, no delays have been announced for the show. Seeing as China has started to return to normal as of April, it is possible that the show will go ahead as planned without any further complications. But it is best to keep a close eye out for any announcements on this topic.

Responding cautiously to the Coronavirus outbreak, the decision was made to delay the event until early August.

The summit combines inspirational case studies from pioneers with dozens of small-group, peer-to-peer learning formats to deliver an educational and elucidating event.
The summit was delayed until late August as a result of the Coronavirus outbreak, and given the situation has not yet been resolved in Singapore, it’s best to stay tuned for news in case the date shifts again.

Interactive workshops, in-depth panels, and how-to keynotes with real-world applicability will be presented by the very tech companies that are shaping the future of AI.
So far, DATAx has not announced any delays to its current dates of August 27-28, 2020. However, it is worth following their Twitter account to stay up to date and see if this changes as the virus situation progresses. In the meantime, the organization is running numerous insightful webinars to help you access trade exposition-level content and senior industry perspectives from the safe comfort of your office or home.

China (Shenzhen) International Internet & E-commerce Expo
Now in its sixth year, the China (Shenzhen) International Internet & E-commerce Expo (CIEFAIR) centers on cross-border eCommerce supply chain, comprehensive foreign trade services, cross-border e-commerce products selection, digital trade, AI, block chain, cloud, intelligent manufacturing, IoTs, industrial Internet and other industry hot spots. CIEFAIR aims to showcase the application of Internet technology in various industries and fields.
Set to be held in late September, CIEFAIR seems for now to be stable in that time slot. Hopes are high that the virus will no longer be a going concern in China by that point.

Cloud Expo Asia
This premier Singaporean convention has been running for close to a decade now, and will once again be opening its doors at Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre in October. The annual free-to-attend event will also see a world-class line-up of international solution providers, as well as an impressive line-up of influential industry experts from 400+ leading innovators speaking on the very latest trends and challenges in the evolving technology landscape.
The show will run late enough in the year that it seems safe from virus cancellations for now.

FUTR has positioned itself to be Asia’s premier retail, marketing, and commerce summit that focuses on innovation, fresh thinking, progressive change, and pushing these industries forward. Over 200 cross-industry speakers will be in attendance in 2020, with 51% of the brands and retailers sending representatives at the director level or above.
Being set for October in Singapore, FUTR has announced no delays as of yet. It’s quite possible delays won’t be necessary. However, these are unpredictable times, and so any prospective attendees should keep an eye out.

Discover Advanced Trends in E-commerce 2020
DATE 2020 is organized by the Taiwanese Bureau of Foreign Trade MOEA in cooperation with numerous industry-adjacent organizations. These associations and councils have created what they hope will be the ultimate platform for exchange on the topic of Business-to-Business-to-Consumer (B2B2C) in the eCommerce market.
The show will run from 21-23 October, in an apparent delay from Jun 3-5 as a response to the Coronavirus outbreak.

Retail Asia Expo focuses on cutting-edge retail solutions from around the world. The show welcomes hundreds of buyers through its doors and facilitates thousands of new business opportunities each year. Working closely with professional retailer associations, media, attendees and exhibitors, the organizers tailor each annual program to best respond to the changing trends of the industry – from Internet retailing solutions and visual design, to retail technology, security, property and marketing. Alongside educational seminars, workshops and networking opportunities.
Originally set for 6-8 May, the Expo chose to delay the show for several months. This Coronavirus response should put it far enough into the future to avoid disruption.
