Background

Clibee is an international footwear design and manufacturing brand with established offline operations, stores and local fulfillment in several overseas markets. To support further growth, Clibee sought a multi-market B2B eCommerce platform to reach wholesale footwear buyers beyond the reach of its physical stores.

Wholesale buyers weigh many factors before ordering: local market fit, color and size mix, cost per case, payment and delivery. The online experience needed to present these product specifications and purchasing terms clearly, while local teams continued to handle inquiries, quotes, payment checks and shipping.

Clibee also wanted to use browsing, search, inquiry and order data to better understand demand in each market, guiding product development, inventory and future market investment.

Project Goals

  • Reach new wholesale buyers overseas. Create an online wholesale channel where prospects can review products, supply and purchasing terms, and share their needs.
  • Make first-time purchasing easier. Clearly present case packs, size runs, quantities, pricing and payment terms, localized by language, currency and address format.
  • Connect inquiries, orders and local sales. Support both direct online ordering and RFQs for large orders, so local teams can follow up on quotes, payment and fulfillment.
  • Lay the groundwork for growth. Enable reorders and quick bulk ordering, and use inquiry, first-order and replenishment data to identify which buyers, products, and markets to prioritize for future investment.

Service & Solution

TMO Group managed the B2B eCommerce platform development, covering requirements analysis, purchasing flow and UX design, multi-country site configuration, product and order customization, data preparation, testing, training and launch support. Built on a headless Magento 2 architecture with a Next.js frontend, the platform connects the buyer-facing experience with backend product, customer and order management.

Deliverables across the four markets included multilingual and multi-currency display, catalog and pricing setup, account and address management, case-pack ordering and tiered pricing, RFQ submission, CSV quick order, reorder from order history, online payment and uploading proof of bank transfers, and role-based permissions for HQ and stores. TMO also supported product data import, content setup and end-to-end testing of key purchasing scenarios.

Beyond building pages and features, TMO connected business logic, UX, development and operations, making sure market boundaries, case packs, tiered pricing, RFQs, payments and store permissions all worked in real business flows, with continued support after launch.

The platform went live in October 2026 and moved into a hypercare phase, with TMO assisting with content, user feedback and issue fixes as Clibee’s team began day-to-day operations.

Multi-Market B2B eCommerce with Localized Storefronts

Each market required its own language, currency, catalog, pricing, inventory and staff permissions. When buyers switch countries, content and trading terms must match the local site; HQ and store teams must operate only within their own scope. TMO built these differences into site configuration, data access and transaction flows, and tested registration, ordering and payment for each country, drawing on multi-country experience to establish market-specific business rules and keep frontend and backend systems synchronized throughout the ordering process.

Wholesale Case-Pack Ordering, Size Runs and Tiered Pricing

Clibee sells by the case: each case holds one color in a fixed size run, and pairs per case vary by style. Buyers need to see unit price, pairs per case and size breakdown to decide how much to order. TMO carried case, pair and size-run data through product pages, tiered pricing, cart and orders. For example, two cases of 12 pairs appear consistently as a 24-pair order at every step. Getting wholesale units right is key to moving wholesale online.

Online ordering and bulk RFQs side by side

Buyers with clear requirements can order online; those needing volume pricing or custom terms can submit an RFQ for sales follow-up. This dual path serves different buyer needs while allowing the sales team to negotiate quotes with larger accounts offline. TMO built RFQ submission and backend management, with entry points configured per site. Registration was kept short, with company details collected later in the purchasing process, so new buyers can move step by step from browsing to ordering.

Linking payments with order processing

Wholesale deals involve online payment and bank transfers. Order submission, payment, proof review and shipping all need clear statuses and workflows. Failed or canceled payments need a retry path. TMO built bank transfer proof upload and admin review, and developed and tested online payment, payment retry, order status updates and refunds, connecting buyer payments with the sales team’s order handling.

B2B Reordering and CSV Bulk Ordering

A B2B platform must also support ongoing orders. Clibee’s platform offers reorder from order history and CSV upload of SKUs and quantities, so returning buyers don’t have to search and enter items one by one. This gives both new and returning buyers a purchasing experience suited to their needs.

Headless Magento 2 Development with Next.js

Built on Next.js and Magento 2, the project reused existing frontend rendering and shared components, adapted to Clibee’s brand, catalog and purchasing flow. The frontend handles browsing and ordering; the backend manages products, customers, pricing and orders. TMO clearly defined which rules are configured in the backend, which experiences are built in the frontend, and how data and statuses flow between them, keeping sites, accounts, pricing, cart and orders consistent. Reusing existing components accelerated the initial development process, while Clibee-specific needs were configured, developed and validated one by one, making future changes easier to maintain.

Enabling the client team to run daily operations

A successful launch requires more than deploying the platform: it needs product content, documentation, training and issue follow-up. Inquiries need local follow-up, bank transfers need verification, and confirmed orders need to be fulfilled. TMO provided UAT support and admin training, and after launch continued helping with content, emails and user feedback so the team could build these tasks into daily operations.

From one-market validation to scalable growth

Launch is just the start. With Clibee now in post-launch support, the next focus is finding buyers that match its supply capacity and using purchasing feedback to guide product selection and inventory. TMO recommends starting with one market, one buyer segment and a set of representative products, tracking inquiry quality, inquiry-to-first-order conversion, reorder cycles and operating costs, then replicating what works in other markets.
