We selected three popular categories: mobile phones & tablets, computer & accessories and smart devices. We collected this data from Southeast Asia's two leading eCommerce platforms: Shopee and Lazada. We used almost 1.2 million SKUs of electronics and accessories on these two platforms that had at least one sale during June 2024. In June 2024, Thailand was the largest online electronic and accessories market among Southeast Asia’s, followed by Vietnam and the Philippines. Thailand held the largest online market share in the mobile phone / tablet and computer & accessories segments, while Vietnam was the largest market for smart devices. In the mobile phone and tablet sector, brands from the United States, China, and South Korea demonstrated strong competitiveness, with Apple maintaining its dominant market position. In the computer & accessories sector, Chinese, American, and Japanese brands are the most favored by Southeast Asian consumers. Japanese printer brands like Canon and Epson are particularly popular in Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines. American laptop / computer brands such as Apple and HP performed well in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand. In the smart devices category, alongside market leaders such as Apple and Garmin, brands like Fitbit and Oculus were also sold well in Southeast Asia. In June 2024, Thailand was the largest online electronic and accessories market among Southeast Asia’s, followed by Vietnam and the Philippines.
